What We Do

Academic Guidance: College is about academics, after all, and our students should have some idea of ‘what they do’ and ‘what they study’ at various academic departments.
Help with Merit and Need-Based Scholarships: Often, finding the right college to apply makes a difference!
Common App Support: And support with various other applications.
Introduction to the Liberal Arts: We run a two-month college preparatory course in the summer, during which students get introduced to a number of significant texts in the social sciences and the humanities.
Writing Workshop: In which students study the craft of writing, and begin drafting their application essays.
Extracurricular Strategy & “Passion Project” Incubation: With which students develop meaningful projects that showcase their interests.
Test Prep Strategies: SAT, IELTS, Duolingo, & more.
Parental Financial Guidance: Parents need help too!
Time & Stress Management: We know this can be a stressful time for our students—but it doesn’t have to be (as stressful)!

As a college counselor (Enkhjargal) and writing tutor (Achbold):

We began to see more clearly—during our many discussions at a coffee shop near the National Library, where we used to meet our students—that college prep shouldn’t just be about slogging through SAT practice tests and polishing your Common Application. It should also prepare you for college itself. That means getting interested in particular academic fields, asking the important questions, and, above all, learning how to read and write. It doesn’t hurt that this happens to be the best way to approach admissions as well. So that’s why we founded Trinity Spark—to help you actually get ready for college.
